Family of Mr. Gardner,
Mr. Gardner was a kind man. I work at the bank where he visited regularly when he lived in Blue Ridge & I also attend New Hope Baptist Church. He will be missed by all who knew him. God Bless his family.

Alfred was always a favorite nephew of my father, Sherman Gardner. I lost touch over the years, but I have fond memories of him as a very kind, gentle man.

My Father was a room mate with Mr. Gardner at the Salem VA. He touched our hearts in just a short time. He could bring a smile to your face, to see him cross his legs Indian style like a six year old and then lean over on his elbows and read his Bible, such a sweet man. May the days ahead lessen your hurt and and be replaced with precious memories and smiles. Mr. Al we love you.
Sincerely
Clifton Wilson

I never considered myself as a half-sister, but a SISTER. I shall miss you. Iris Brown
