Richard, Roger and Jane, we are very, very sorry to learn of Aunty Mavis' passing - being homeless for a year(still homeless), we lost all contacts with the Chitty family. I learned only today (3-18-2009) of Mavis' passing. Please accept our apologies and condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I have email contact if you wish to contact us. Mavis was the most gracious lady we have ever met. I know the angels in heaven welcome her with open arms. We had many evening tea parties with her. I was always in awe with her artistic talents. But we are very pleased to say that we bought several of her water color paintings and shall always treasure them. Love from Dan, Nancy, Ka Lee, Jeremy and 5-week old Zelynn Chu Gustafson.

I have very happy memories of being with Aunty Mavis. Meals outside on the picnic table, seeing her beautiful paintings. Everything was always just right in her home and her appearance. I wished our families had lived closer to share more times together. I wish her peace.

The beautiful photo of your mom reveals a classic taurean forehead - high from the brow to the hairline.
Given her many artistic talents, love of the social graces and everything that was beautiful, lyrical, musical, I would not be surprised to learn that your mom had taurus rising at the time of her birth for the rising sign is the expression we exhibit to the world.
I fondly remember your family home in Huntington, NY, your mom's gracious hospitality, and how I felt so enchanted seeing her beautiful artwork and extraordinary needlework.
And so dearest Jeanne, Richard and Roger, as you release your mom's spirit be sure to hold on to her love.
Always remember that her legacy lives on in you and yours.
May I also say a friendly Texas "howdy" to Felice Diamond, Peter Scheer, and Robert Ahola.
In Light and Love, as always,
Ann Marie Topper

My wonderful Auntie Mavis left an indellible memory from my earliest memories on this planet. A true 'Lady' in ever sense of the word who was always so much fun and so knowledgeable on so many things. The world is a sadder place without her now but she enriched so many people around the globe for all of her lifetime who will be glad they had met her.
