Nathaniel Hunt Obituary

Nathaniel Lewis Hunt, 77, of Roanoke, Va., passed peacefully and quietly on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Friendship Retirement Community. "NAT," as he was affectionately called was born to Lottie Acey Hunt and the late Colston Lewis Hunt on November 9, 1931, in Rockbridge County, Va. He moved with his family to Roanoke, Va., as a young man and attended local schools. He met and married Dorothy L. Hunt who preceded him in death along with his father; one son, Nathaniel L. (Buddy) Hunt Jr.; one daughter, Florine Witcher; and one sister, Rowena Arrington. Those left with many memories are his daughters, Deborah, Renell, Cynthia S., Cynthia M., and Linda; sons, Larry and Daryle; mother, Mrs. Lottie L. Hunt; one sister, Mrs. Loretta Brown; one brother, Belford (Betty) Hunt; one brother-in-law, Paul Arrington; devoted cousin, Ms. Veranean Davis; and many grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Dr. Edward T. Burton officiating. The interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Friends may call on Monday afternoon, March 2, 2009, for viewing at HamlarCurtis Funeral Home.
