Doris Welch Obituary

Doris Evelyn Ann Welch, 92, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 28, 2009, at the Roanoke United Methodist Home. She was born in Centreville, Md. on March 20, 1916, to the late Joseph Raymond and Clara Estelle Sheubrooks Richardson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marion Jarvis Welch. Mrs. Welch is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Velma W. Epperly, of Gaithersburg, Md., Patricia A. and Jeff Krug, Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, Duane R. Epperly and wife, Rachel, Angel C. Canupp and husband, Jim, Elizabeth A. Krug, Robert L. Krug and wife, Teresa; eight greatgrandchildren, Logan, Shelby, Xavier, Danielle, Tori, Kathleen, Tasha, and Connor. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 5, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, Md. with the Rev. Karen Dize officiating. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Mrs. Betty BashamChairman, 200 Evans Street, Christiansburg, Va. 24073, or to the Alzheimer's Association, Central & Western Va. ChapterRoanoke Region, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, Va. 24015. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
