Homer Clevo Dalton

Homer Clevo Dalton, 90, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Waddell Nursing Home. Mr. Dalton was born in Carroll County to the late Nova Sr. and Cayulah Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Versie Gwyn and Vada Huff; and brothers, Alvin Dalton and N.E. Dalton Jr. Mr. Dalton retired after 22 years of service from the Wonder Knit Plant, in Galax. He is survived by his wife, Erthyl Padgett Dalton, of the home; daughter, Jane Ella Dalton, of Harrisonburg, Va.; sister, Claudine Marshall, of Woodlawn; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2009, at 2 p.m. at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel with Pastor David Bays officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardner Memorial Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 AF & AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Monday prior to the funeral service.
