Mary Lee, Joyce, Alice and Frank, I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I wasn't aware of your loss until today when I walked past your house and saw the wreath. I have so many memories of when we were growing up and your parents were always so kind to me. I certainly would have come to the services if I had known. Robert and I are thinking of you and praying that soon your grief will leave room for the wonderful memories to come back. I will always think of Mr. Jewell when I hear a train whistle. Love Betty

For the times of long ago and knowing you and your dad, it was special. To impart sympathy in your loss --my thot's of an obituary poem saying it broke our hearts to loose you but you didn't go alone.. a part of us went with you ... The death of Jesus Christ on Calvary's cross is our refuge for now and forever.

I worked with Robert many years on the N&W and was his Fireman when he retired. I know how much he thought of his Family and was very proud of them, so now we can reflect back on our memories and one day we will be together again. I am now in Flordia but my thoughts and prayers are with all of you and may God bless you. N&W Reed.

To The Jewell Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad, he was one in a million. Even though I have not lived in the Elliston area for several years, I have had the opportunity to see him several times since then at different places. One time before I moved to North Carolina, I saw him at the Piedmont Cemetery and we had a long talk about life in general. We hate to give our loved ones up anytime but we know that they are in a much better place than we are. All of you remember that he along with your Mom are "Angels" watching over each of you everyday. God be with you and I, along with Lorrie (and Johnny) will be in touch with you.
