Steve Harrah Obituary

Steve Harrah, of Roanoke, Va., went to his heavenly reward on Saturday, March 7, 2009, at age 60. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Corporation, a third generation railroader. He enjoyed boating on the Kanawha River in his youth, hunting, camping, bluegrass music, and time at the ocean. Steve was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Christ, and was in the Ambassador's Gospel Quartet. He loved God, the Bible, and the Church. He graduated from Ohio Valley College. Left to cherish him memory is his wife of soon to be 40 years, Connie Reese Harrah. Steve was a loving father to his children, son, Chris and wife, April; and daughter, Michele Harrah Nikkel and husband, Ben. He was a proud Pagr to his special granddaughters, Ainsley Harrah and Sienna Harrah. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Reese Lynn Nikkel, on March 6, 2009; also by his parents, Ted and Doris Harrah. Though Steve was an only child, he leaves behind a large, loving extended family, and church family. He will be greatly missed. The funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel with Eddie Gilpin officiating. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Montgomery Memorial Park, London, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2009, at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

Connie and family,

I was so sorry to hear Steve had passed. You and Steve always held a special place in my heart. He was a wonderful person. I know you will all miss him greatly but you also have the reassurance that he's no longer in pain and is home where he always worked to be. God added one more beautiful voice to his singers.

You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
