Walter Hall Obituary

Walter T. Hall, Jr., of Cheney, Wash., Decatur, Ga., and Roanoke, Va., died on February 9, 2009. He is survived by wife, Elizabeth Wingfield Hall; daughter, Sandy Haase; son-inlaw, George Haase; grandchildren, Miles and Lindsey Haase; new greatgranddaughter, Sophia, all residing in Spokane, Wash.; brother, Sam S. Hall; and sister-in-law, Joan Hall, of Midlothian, Va. Walter graduated from Jefferson High School, enlisted in the United States Army in 1942 and fought in Italy with the 88th Infantry. He was thrice wounded, Bronze Star decorated and field promoted. After World War II ended, Walter graduated from Emory and Henry College in 1948. He worked for Church & Dwight Corporation for 26 years and later for Automatic Data Processing Corporation. He was an ardent supporter of his beloved college and a member of the Patrick Henry Society. Memorials may be made to Emory and Henry College E & H Fund through 'Make a Gift' at the Emory and Henry website: www.ehc.edu.
