Mary Cooper Obituary

Mary Marie Cooper, of Roanoke and Franklin County, went home to be with the Lord. She dedicated her life to the service of others. Always a hard worker, she worked at Kenrose, Bailey's Cafeteria, People's Drug Store, The Veteran's Canteen, Davis Pizza, K&W Cafeteria, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Sunnybrooke Inn. She was a faithful servant, helpful, devoted, beloved, and had a heart of gold. She loved to cook, bake, and garden. She also loved to be with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Cooper; and six children. Left to cherish her memory are her two children, Amy Cooper and Lindsey McKooper; granddaughter, Jennifer McFaden and husband, Patrick; brother, Ellis Bolling; and a host of relatives, including in-laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and an extended family of friends. A period of visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home's chapel. The Rev. Irvin W. Sloan and the Rev. Robert Paxton will officiate. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. Online condolences to the family may be made at johnmoakey.com. The Cooper family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem, 389-5441.

I mean to say "to get a hold of you". Sorry for the mistake. I'm gonna miss your mom a lot. She was such a wonderful person. I know that this is a big loss for you and I want to be there for you. If you need me you know my number. If there is anything that I can do please let me know. I mean that.
