Merle Meredith Obituary

Merle Henderson Meredith, 78, of Radford, passed away Monday, June 15, 2009, at the Radford Nursing & Rehab. He was a member of Radford Church of Christ and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a retired carpenter with 38½ years service at the RAAP. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Eula Haley Meredith. Survivors include his loving wife, Gertrude Shelburne Meredith, to whom he would have been married 57 years on June 27th; a son, Phillip Merle Meredith, of Cookeville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Dana Michelle Brooks, of Morristown, Tenn., Amanda Gayle Ressler, of Covington, Ga., and Casey Diane Meredith, of Jefferson City, Tenn.; three great-grandchildren, Jayde Elizabeth Brooks, Heidi Camille Brooks and Lily Grace Brooks. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Radford Church of Christ, 700 Eighth Street, with Mr. Larry Phillips and Mr. John Croft officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the church. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing. We were the best of friends during our childhood and teen years. I pray that God will comfort you in the knowledge that you will be reunited in the heavenly home that he has prepared.
