Russell Pyles Obituary

Russell Arrington Pyles, 83, of Narrows, Va., passed away Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital, in Pearisburg. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on February 6, 1926, and was the son of the late George Dewey and Minnie Lois Keffer Pyles. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Frank and Sherman Pyles; and two sisters, Shirley Farley and Clarice Virginia Pyles. He is survived by a sister, Edna Mullins, of Narrows; a nephew, Donnie Mullins, of Narrows; four nieces, Barbara Hernandez, of Rock Camp, W.Va., Teresa Perdue, Sharon Ortiz and Carolyn Farley, all of Narrows. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 21, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe's Funeral Service, in Narrows, with the Rev. Paul Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery near Narrows. Friends may call at Riffe's Funeral Service Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. Online condolence messages can be sent to www.riffes.com.
