Earl Stanley Obituary

Mr. Earl Conner Stanley, 69, of Lexington, Va., passed away Sunday, June 21, 2009, in Meadows of Dan. He was born in Patrick County on February 25, 1940, to the late Charles Lee and Audrey Puckett Stanley. He was a retired office manager for Sprint with 35 years of service and had served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and the Sons of Confederate Veterans, was active in the Republican Party, President of the National Stanley Family Association, and was an avid genealogist. Mr. Stanley is survived by his wife, , June Hall Stanley, of the home; two sons, James Earl Stanley, and wife, Susan, of Florence, S.C., and Charles Lee "Chip" Stanley II and wife, Terri, of Lexington; two daughters, Wendy Gayle Stanley, of Madison, Wis., and Sheryl Kay Stanley Wagner and husband, Thomas, of Lexington; five grandchildren, Jacob Tyler Stanley, Andrew McKinley Stanley, Kathryn "Kate" Audrey Wagner, Charles Lee "Charlie" Stanley III and Isabelle Grace Wagner; two sisters, Carole Stanley Quesenberry and husband, John, of Walkertown, N.C., and Hilda Vivier and husband, Charles, of Meadows of Dan; and one brother, Nelson Ray Stanley and wife, Elsie, of Patrick Springs. Funeral services for Mr. Stanley will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Old Bell Spur Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Stewart Childress officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Military Rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, June 23, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Maberry Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 776 Pinnacle Lane, Meadows of Dan, Va. 24120. June 23=09
Had the pleasure of seeing Earl, approximately 6mo ago for the first time
in 61 years,and we did alot of catching up in about 30 minutes, but I thank God for that precious time. Please accept my prayers and sympathy for your loss. -God speed My Friend-
