Nancy Ann Driscoll Frier

October 14, 1952 ~ June 22, 2009 Nancy Ann Driscoll Frier, 56, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 22, 2009. Her family was at her side as she completed her six year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Even during the hardest times, Nancy always took the time to tell those around her how much she loved them. She possessed an eternal optimism like no other. Her generous heart, bright eyes, uplifting laugh and love of family and friends will be missed and cherished by those who were privileged to know her. Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Col. Vedder Brower Driscoll. She is survived by a loving family, her mother, Joyce Ann Driscoll; sisters, Debra Metcalf, Barbara Ludeman, Kathleen Vardo, Pamela Haines, Tamara Driscoll, and Tracey Driscoll; brothers, Daniel and Timothy Driscoll; brothers-in-law, Harry Ludeman, Robert Haines, Jeff Vardo, and Geoff Roach; sister-in-law, Suzanne Driscoll; nephews, Christopher, Brian, and Kyle Vardo, Adam Driscoll and Matthew Ludeman; nieces, Emily Ludeman, Erin Schwab, Allison and Madeline Haines, and Devan Driscoll-Roach; cousins, Jill and Greg Snyder; the daughters of her heart, Blair and Stephanie; her beloved Booters (cats); and an endless sea of friends who loved her dearly. A celebration of Nancy's life will be conducted 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Dr. Kenneth P. Lane, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church.
