Clara Spangler Obituary

Clara Thomas Spangler, 65, of Thaxton, Va., passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009. She was born on February 8, 1944, in Moneta, Va., and was the daughter of the late Dalton and Alpha Lawrence. One of the greatest joys in Clara's life was her family and especially her grandchildren and greatgrandchild. In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Spangler. She is survived by her son, Kevin; daughters, Dianne and husband, Densi, and Kim; brother, Johnnie Thomas and wife, Iris; sister, Frances Borton; six grandchildren, Joshua, Kristen, Densi II, Blake, Emily, and Caitlyn; one greatgrandchild, Bella; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009, in the chapel of John M. Oakey & Son with the Pastor Johnnie Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. The Spangler family is being served by John M. Oakey & Son, Salem, Va., 540-389-2107.
