Christina Ross Obituary

Christina Hadinger Kazee Ross, 91, of Christiansburg, Va., departed this life on earth for her Heavenly home on Tuesday, June 23, 2009. She was the beloved mother of son, Richard M. Kazee Sr. and wife, Pamela, of Christiansburg, Va.; and daughters, Margaret K. Muncy, of Christiansburg, Va., and Elizabeth K. Williams, of Lake, W.Va. She was born in Franklin Township, Summitt County, Ohio on November 15, 1917, to the late Nicholas and Elizabeth Just Hadinger. She was a member of 1st Christian Church of Stollings, W.Va., for 40 years and taught Sunday School Class. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Richard L. Kazee and Walter J. Ross; sisters, Rose Bates and Elizabeth Drop; brothers, Paul, John, and Nicholas Hardinger; and sons-in-law, Charles P. Muncy III and James Earl Williams. She is survived by her only living sibling, sister, Margaret Wilhelm and husband, Jasper, of Ohio; grandchildren, Karen Asbury McCann, of Flagler Beach, Fla., Cristina Williams Maynor and husband, Robert, of West Virginia, Carrie Kazee Crawford and husband, Ray, of Roanoke, Va., and Richard Michael Kazee Jr., of Roanoke, Va.; step grandchildren, Annette Muncy Sherrill and Robert, of Chester, Va., Elizabeth Muncy Smyers and Matthew, of Richmond, Va., and Charles P. Muncy IV, of Christiansburg, Va.; greatgrandchildren, Christopher McCann and wife, Elizabeth, of Radford, Va., Tony Wheatley, Hailie Elkins, and Dominick Elkins, of West Virginia, step great-grandchildren, Morgan and Lauren Sherrill, of Chester, Va., Ellie, Luke and Caroline Smyers, of Richmond, Va.; great-great-grandchild, Currin Elizabeth McCann, of Radford, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, Pulaski Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care received; the medical staff at New River Valley Medical Center; and Horne Funeral Home. Per the instructions of Mrs. Ross, there will be no services and her wishes were to be cremated. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Dear Family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear Mother. I have many fond memories of Aunt Chris. She always had a smile on her face and made me feel welcome. My love and prayers are with all of you.
