Graham E. Nicely Jr.

Graham E. Nicely Jr., 70, of Elliston, Va., entered into Eternal Rest surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 27, 2009. Mr. Nicely had been in declining health for the past several years. He was a kind and loving son, husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all that knew him. He was born May 4, 1939, in Alleghany County, Va., son of the late Graham E. Nicely Sr., and Doris L. Nichols Nicely. He was also preceded in death by a stepson, Herbert A. Martin; and a brother, Larry Nicely. Mr. Nicely previously worked as a registered nurse and was the retired owner, barber and hairstylist of the Hair Care Center in Salem. He was a United States Army Veteran and was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Hale Nicely; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy Wayne and Susan Nicely; daughter, Terri Lynn Bennett; stepson, Kenny E. Martin; brother and sister-in-law, Howard R. and Dorothy E. Nicely; sister, Dolly E. Campbell; grandson, Stephen M. Bennett; stepgrandchildren, Melissa S. Jones, Jeremy T. Martin, Nicole M. Martin and Tony C. Nicely; stepgreatgrandchildren, Tyler A. Tyson, Kayla M. Jones, Aiden P. Williamson, Tylor Nicely, Alexis S. Nicely and Zairek H. Nicely; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, June 29, 2009, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with the Rev. Peggy Porter officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service on Monday. Interment will follow at Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Clifton Forge, Va.
