Robert Young Obituary

Robert Jeffrey Young, 94 of Roanoke passed away Thursday July 2, 2009. He was the son of the late Dallas and May Young and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Jeffrey was a member of Villa Heights Baptist Church and was retired from the Veterans Administration after 30 years of service. He was an excellent woodworker and he dearly loved making clocks. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna G. Young; sisters, Dolly Lee and Minnie Sweeney, both of Christiansburg; many nieces, nephews and friends; and a special niece, Sandra Thomas. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. at 12 noon Monday, July 6, 2009. The Rev. John Fox will officiate. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.

Anna,it was very sad to hear of Jeff's passing. I remember him from working with my Dad at the VA. I now have the clock he made for him in 1970 and it runs good as ever!! I will always remember Jeff and wish you peace during this time.
