Kennard Wayne Luther

Kennard Wayne Luther, 67, of Fieldale, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He is survived by his wife, Jean B. Luther, of the home; one son, David Luther, of Ridgeway; one daughter, Robin Whitlow; three brothers, Odell Luther, Homer Luther, and Dennis Luther; four sisters, Janice Wilson, Ineda Hart, Nancy Motley and Lois Edwards; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Collinsville Church of the Brethren, 553 John Redd Blvd., Collinsville, Va. The funeral service will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the Collinsville Church of the Brethren. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Hillsville, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 3907, Martinsville, Va. 24115. Bassett Funeral Service is serving the family of Mr. Luther.
