Donna McCoy Obituary

Donna Kay McCoy, 51, of Foxborough St., N. Tazewell, Va., died suddenly Thursday evening, July 2, 2009, at her home. Born August 18, 1957, in Bluefield, she was the daughter of the late John and Effie Moore Woody. Donna Kay was a licensed LPN as well as an CNA. For many years, she was a courier and transporter for the Cimarron Coach Company, making many friends along the way. She currently was a courier for a company based out of Abingdon, Va., Business As Usual. Donna Kay loved her family, and was very proud of her Cherokee heritage. She was a member of the Eastern Band Cherokee Native American Indian Group. Survivors her husband of 16 years, David Wayne McCoy; three children, Melissa Dempsey, Kevin Blanton, Shawn Pope; two grandchildren, Joshua and Kaylee Blanton; three sisters and one brother, Sandra Adkins, Barbara Woody, David "Animal" Woody, Joetta McKee; niece, Angela Apolinar; nephews, Tony Adkins and Terry Smith. Her family has honored Donna Kay's request, her body has been cremated. She wishes for no visitation or services. The McCoy Family is being served by the Memorial Funeral Directory & Cremation Center on the Athens Road in Princeton.
