Dorothy Harteis Obituary

Dorothy Booker Harteis, 87, of Salem, Va., went to her reward on Saturday, July 4, 2009. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Leo P. Harteis; sons, Richard Booker and wife, Melody, of Salem, Wayne Booker and wife, Robin, of Roanoke, and Jerry Booker, of Summersville, W.Va.; daughter, Brenda McClure and husband, Michael, of Vinton; stepsons, Leo P. Harteis Jr., of Hot Springs, Mont., Timothy Harteis and wife, Gayle, of Benore, Tenn., Dan Harteis and Julie Jones, of Blairsville, Pa., Mark Harteis, of Torrance, Pa., and Jack Harteis and wife, April, of Goodview. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2728 Colonial Avenue, Roanoke, Va. 24015. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. The family will receive friends following the service. I would like to express my deepest sympathy to all of Dorothy's family. She was a very special lady and will surely be missed. I am so glad I got to be a part of her life for so many years. She was always kind to me and always made me feel like a part of the family.
