Herman Stanley Obituary

Herman Franklin (Frank) Stanley Jr., 61, died early Monday morning, July 6, 2009, at his home in Draper, Va. Born in Patrick County, Va., on December 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Herman Franklin Stanley Sr. He was a retired employee of Volvo, and served in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He loved to hunt in his spare time. Preceding him in death were a son, Robb Michael Stanley; brother, Roland E. Stanley; and father-in-law, Gordon Reid. Surviving are his wife, Sharon Reid Stanley; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel Lee and Christy Stanley; grandchildren, Lauren, Caila, Sydney, Noah, and Addison Stanley; mother, Dorothy C. Stanley; and sister and brother-in-law, Germaine and Charles McClure. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2009, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Preston Sartelle Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Draper's Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting Military Graveside Rites. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, July 8, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. from the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to The Pulaski County Humane Society. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home Pulaski, Va.
