Robert Henry Arthur

Robert Henry Arthur, 77, of Huddleston, Va., and formerly of Botetourt County, Va., passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009. He was predeceased by two sons, Jerry and Dale Arthur; grandson, Paul Ramey and his wife, Janet; and his parents, Perry and Sally Witt Arthur. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Grubbs Arthur; daughter, Cindy Arthur; sons, Mike (Marilyn) Arthur, and David and Tony Arthur; brother, Roger (Gail) Arthur; sisters, Freida Gross, Joyce (William) Goad, and Lois (Jimmy) Smith; five grandchildren, Michele Holland, Shannon Arthur, Zachary Arthur, Casey Arthur and Michael Arthur; four greatgrandchildren, Tyler Ramey, Leigen Arthur, Christian Holland and Hunter Holland; many inlaws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; including his special doggies, Chico, Baby and Blackie. Robert was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired self-employed contractor who enjoyed hunting and camping in the mountains and at Lake Okeechobee, Fla. Robert also enjoyed his family and friends time playing Canasta. Friends are welcome to call on Sunday, July 12, 2009, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville, where a service celebrating Robert's life will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, July 13, 2009, in Rader's Chapel with the Rev.
