Faye Layne Obituary

Faye Pinson Layne, 86, of Tulsa, Okla. and formerly of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord on Friday, July 10, 2009. Born in Mena, Ky. on December 19, 1922, Faye was a daughter of the late George L. and Elizabeth Thompson Pinson. She married Victor N. Layne, he preceded her in death in 1984. Faye was also preceded in death by a son Harry J. "Jimmy" Layne and a daughter, Jean Layne Hammer. Faye owned and operated the Victorian Inn and was known for her fine foods. She loved to travel, visiting California, Yellowstone National Park and Florida. She was a member of Grand Lake Baptist Church in Tulsa. Faye leaves two loving daughters to cherish her memory, Trudy Layne Wyatt, of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Mary Layne Childress, of Cincinnati, Ohio; a loving sister, Mary P. Belcher, of Roanoke; and a brother, Leon Pinson, of Richmond. Also surviving are six grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and a great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A service celebrating Faye's life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Roanoke Chapel of Lotz Funeral Home, 1001 Franklin Road SW, officiated by the Reverend Terry Pinson with interment at Sherwood Memorial Park. Faye's family will receive friends Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
