Opal Janice Martin

Opal Janice Martin, 70, of Pearisburg, Va., died on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at the Elm Tree Group Home. She was born in Erwin, Tenn., on January 22, 1939, to the late Richmond and Faye Bailey Martin and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Martin and James Martin. She is survived by her son, Richard Thomas "Tommy" Martin, of Marion, Va.; two sisters and brothersin-law, Becky and Jack Thatcher, of Dublin, and Melba and Danny Coltrane, of Pulaski; four brothers and sistersin-law, Ronald Martin, of Draper, Gerald Martin, of Pulaski, David and Margaret Martin, of Fairlawn, and Robert and Donna Martin, of Radford; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff and care givers at Elm Tree Group Home for all their loving care and attention over the past few years. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Henegar officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens.
