Sister Ruth M. Williams, know this...
"One ship drives east, and another west
With self-same winds that blow;
'Tis the set of the sails
And not the gales,
That decides the way we go." --E. Wilcox

Undoubtedly, your Mom's sails were set to guide her family and I'm sure she will be missed. My deepest condolences during your time of bereavement.

Dear Jean, Carol, Ruth & Paula, I believe I knew your Mother all my life for she was a friend of my Mother's, Rosa Miller. While I did some baby sitting when you all were so small mostly it was just playing with you guys while waiting for my turn in the chair. Liz kept my hair looking great. I shall miss knowing she is in this world. Like you I will remember her hardy laugh and rapid speech, and generous nature. My God bless each of you and may you remember the good and special times you shared with your Mother and that it sustain you during this painful time. My sincerest condolences, Stella Miller Grant

I'll miss Aunt Liz's humor, style & wit. Whenever she visited she kept us laughing. She helped Linus w/some boxing techniques and my dad w/fashion tips! My mom shared many fond memories with us. We always looked forward to staying w/her when we visited Roanoke.
We'll be in prayer for you all.

Jean, Carole, Ruth, Paula and all members of the family, Words cannot adequately express my heartfelt sorrow on the loss that you are right now experiencing. Just know that while Mother Macklin was among us, she was one of the sweetest flowers in the Lord's garden. I'll miss her sweet smile and her quiet, gentle humor, but I know that she's sitting at the Lord's supper table, keeping watch over all her children. Please know that if there is anything I can do for you at anytime, don't hesitate to ask. You are forever close to my heart and I pray that the Lord will comfort you as you transition through this period of bereavement. As referenced in Galatians 6:2, I will be there to "carry your burdens". God bless each of you.

To my Dearest Grandma, I'll never forget those cakes you baked, fingerwaves you taught me how to do, the candy you would pile in your purse for church on Sunday's for me,that big car you drove back in the day and I called it the monster car, and sooooo many more memories I'll always cherish. I loved coming by to visit you. We would sit and talk about anything. Recently I became your hairstylist and that was very special to me. I developed that trait from you and it was a privilege to do your hair, because you had done hair all your life. I will never forget your stylish ways. I love you and miss you so much already. God had to make our family garden a little prettier so he added you.

Dear Carol, Jean, Ruth, Paula, and Family:

"Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you - Deuteronomy 5:16"

May these very words from God bring comfort to you because you did exactly what God commanded. Our Aunt Liz was a godly MOTHER and taught you about the Love, Grace, Mercy, and Kindness of GOD, just like my parents raised us to believe in HIM. I cannot even imagine what my brother and sisters would do without our parents, (Robert and Lorraine Macklin), but I know that our parents have instilled in us the importance of having a strong relationship with God so that during times of trouble and sorrow, we can be find peace and healing.

May God strengthen and hold you in His loving arms during this time. Be blessed and encouraged and know that your loving mother has no more pain or sickness. Be reassured that she is with HIM and while she was on this earth she did what God commanded her to do. That is why she raised you and lifted you up to bring you into a closer relationship with God.

"Of all the earthly things God gives, there's one above all others: it is the precious, priceless gift of loving Christian mothers. -Anon.
