Sylvia Pruitt Ray Hollandsworth

Sylvia Pruitt Ray Hollandsworth, 71, of Vinton, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, August 11, 2009. Sylvia loved to cook and was preceded in death by her first husband, Jacob Ray; and her brother, Dan Parrish. Surviving are her husband, Marvin V. Hollandsworth; her children, Jerry Wayne Ray and wife, Silvia, of Northern Virginia, Penny Jean Ray, of Stewartsville, Cindy Ray Cook and husband, Buddy, of Townsend, Del., and Mark V. Ray, of Moneta, Va.; her stepchildren, Karen Vaden and husband, Robert, of Goodview, Michael Hollandsworth and wife, Dawn, of Roanoke, Wayne Hollandsworth and wife, Kim, of Kernersville, N.C., and Debbie Murphy and husband, Jeff, of Salem; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Billie Kay Middleton; and her brothers, Charles and Vaughn Pruitt, and Jack and Tom Parrish. A Funeral Service will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009, in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Appalachian Children’s Memorial Fund in Sylvia’s name.
