Though this was one of the toughest events of my life this year that I had to face, my memories of Lil Merle keep me strong and keep me from giving up. He will always be missed and he will always be on my mind, but I know that he is in a better place. God knows what is best and what one can bare and with that he watches over us each and everyday. In my brother's absences may all of his family remain close and not apart and may peace outshine the bad and may joy fill the hearts of those in pain. May his son be complete in his dad absence and my the love of all shine around Josiah so that he knows that his father truly loved him and alway has. I miss him, and I know I will see him some day. Jeffrey, Nickolas, Joshua, Gabriella, and Abigail miss him, and love him and he will never ever be forgotten, for words will never express what he meant to us. RIP

As each day passes, its gets a little harder, but somewhat easier to know that Merle is in the hands of the Lord. Life as I knew it, has changed forever, and the memories of him I cherish. As the coldness comes, he is covered with warmth, and he is not alone no more, and my tears of saddness are directly tears of peace that he is not struggling no more. I miss him so much and there is not a day that goes by that I do not look at his picture and close my eyes so that I can visualize my brother. He is loved, he was loved and I pray for his son, his parents and all his relatives and friends each and everyday.
HE IS NOT FORGOTTEN, AND HE NEVER WILL BE. HE WAS REMARKABLE, WITH AND ADDED TWISTED AND HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY BROTHER THAT I LOVED WITH ALL MY HEART.

Merle was my friend's and my son's and he was a love like no other love. Life as I once knew it has changed forever and my heart will alway feel the separation. But I will alway be thankful to My Lord's and Savor Jesus Christ for 22yrs. Merle smile's will live on through all of us who love him.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.

To the parents of their beloved son, Merle, I donot know your son,but I know your pain! My son was killed at the same age back in 1996. Iwant you to know that my prayers are with you and your family.And right now you feel that your heart is torn in pieces, you cannot eat nor sleep and you have anger but lean on your faith AND IT WILL GET YOU THREW the rough and hard times. Lil' Merle was one of the best things to ever walked into my life. He always knew how to cheer me up and make me smile. Everytime we were together, we always had so much fun. He was always a gentlemen and never disrespected me. He truely was an angel on earth and everytime I was in his arms I felt safe. I feel safe now knowing that he is in the heavens watching over me.
