Betty Fitzgerald Obituary

Betty Crowder (Ga-Ga) Fitzgerald), 80, of Roanoke, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 30, 2009. She is preceded in death by her sister, Doris Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Beth Bohmer and husband, Douglas, of Roanoke; son, Barry Fitzgerald, of Key West, Fla.; grandsons, Cameron and Josh Bohmer; and sister, Mary Alys (Pete) Crowder. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. She was a beautiful and loving mother, Ga-Ga, friend and nurse who greatly cared for everyone in her life. We will miss her with all of our hearts. There will be a celebration of her life 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2009, at Covenant Presbyterian Church on Deyerle Road for friends and family. A reception for all will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall. A private family inurnment will be the following day at Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 2408 Electric Road, Roanoke, Va. 24018. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
