Wilmoth Allman Berger

Wilmoth Allman Berger, 100, of Union Hall, Va., died on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Mrs. Berger was the oldest member of Glade Hill Baptist Church, joining in 1943. She was born July 26, 1909, a daughter of the late Dave and Laura Allman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, David Thomas Berger; son, David William Berger. her dear friend and stepmother, Vanna Allman; twin brother, Wilbert Allman; sister, Cordie Houston, Elsie Dudley and Vergie Berger; brother, Beverly Allman; and stepbrother, Wesley Allman. Surviving are her daughter, Ann Shoemaker and husband, Robert; daughter, Linda Tyree; stepbrother, David Allman; stepsister, Shirley Pagans; her grandchildren, Mike Berger and wife, Aina, Debra Rickey, Robin Shinault and husband, Steve, Lisa Bowles, and Scott Bowles; great-grandchildren, Dan Berger, Robert Rickey, Adam Martin, Lauren Martin, Sarah Shinault, Aaron Bowles, Abigail Bowles, Carter Bowles and Jess Bowles; great-great-grandson, Ethan Berger; several nieces, nephews; and other family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2009, from Lynch ConnerBowman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Berger Family Cemetery, Union Hall. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and other times at her home.
