Rev. Herbert Myers

Rev. Herbert G. Myers, 91, of Sebring, Ohio, passed away on August 6, 2009. Fr. Myers was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Pacific in World War II. He and his late wife, Aileen, retired in Blacksburg, and were members of Christ Episcopal Church. Fr. Myers sang with the Master Corale, and served as an interim rector at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton, Va. He served parishes in Ohio, Michigan, Key Biscayne, Fla., and Virginia. He is proceeded in death by his parents; one brother; and his wife, Aileen (2005). He is survived by two daughters, Harriet (Mrs. John F.) Holm, of Roanoke, and Stephanie Schim, of Royal Oak, Mich.; three grandsons; one great-grandson; and one niece. Memorial services were held in Sebring, Ohio. Burial was held the Memorial Garden at St. David's Episcopal Church in Southfield, Mich. Memorials may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Blacksburg or the Alzheimer's Association.
