Kyle Munsey Obituary

Kyle Malone Munsey Sr., of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2009. He became a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church in April 1935. Kyle graduated from William Fleming High School and was employed by the Norfolk and Western Railway in the car records office. During World War II, he served in the United States Army. After 43 years service, he retired in May 1984 from the Norfolk Southern Railway car accounts office. Surviving are his beloved wife of 62 years, Violet Cassada Munsey; and son, Kyle Malone Munsey Jr., of Haymarket, Va. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Huntington Court United Methodist Church (God's Update '08), P.O. Box 5066, Roanoke, Va. or a favorite charity. The cryptside service will be held at noon on Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Sherwood Memorial Park, Belvedere Mausoleum. The Rev. Russell Cheatham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2009, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.

Mrs. Munsey and Kyle, Jr.,
I am so sorry to read of the passing of your beloved husband and father.

We rented your apt. in 1959 on Wildhurst Ave. I had my son before you had Kyle and you were so excited about a baby. Roy and Jayne Stubbs.

I pray God will comfort you in this time of loss and the memories of your long years together will sustain you.
