George Platt Obituary

George Warren Platt, 76, of Eagle Rock, Va., passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 13, 2009. He was predeceased by his parents, Howard L. and Hazel Troutman Platt; wife, Ellen Lundh Platt; brother, John Platt; and sister, Barbara Dearches. George is survived by his daughter, Susan E. Marazzi and her husband, Brian; grandchildren, Jason M. and Timothy B. Marazzi; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many special friends. Friends are welcome to call Friday, September 18, 2009, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville where a service celebrating George's life will be held 11 a.m. on Friday following visitation. The Rev. Robert McRae will officiate. Interment will be held at Eagle Rock Cemetery. Arrangements by Rader Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Daleville, Va.

To Mr. Platt's Daughter Susan & her family:
Your Dad was a neighbor of ours for the years he has lived in the Eagle Rock area. We visited with him & also
your Mother when she was living on several occasions and we always enjoyed our visits with them. We would still see your Dad occasionally as he was driving by our house. We enjoyed knowing him and he was always very pleasant and nice to chat with.
I remember him helping The Eagle Rock Improvement Association several years in transporting the flower baskets we hang throughout our little township. Our sincere condolences are with you during this most difficult time.
