Billy Douglas Hodges

Billy Douglas Hodges, 73, of Ferrum, Va., died on Friday, September 18, 2009. He was born on September 4, 1936, a son of the late Posie L. and Easter J. Hodges. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Nelson Ray Hodges. Billy is survived by his daughters, Slone Renee Hodges Lang (Bradley) and Laura Ann Hodges Hernandez (Joel); son, Douglas Browning Hodges; grandchildren, Douglas Browning Hodges Jr., Darien Browning Hodges, and Leighton Galaxy Lang; sisters, Macie Hodges, Nadine (Clifton) Chitwood, and Joyce (G.A.) Young; brothers, Junior Hodges, Brady (Marie) Hodges, David (Betty) Hodges, Allen (Peggy) Hodges, Daniel (Judy) Hodges, and Leslie (Virginia) Hodges; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to his Ferrum friends, especially those at the 77 Restaurant. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009, from Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow in Hodges Family Cemetery (English Road) His family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Joyce and G.A.
