Bertha Wimmer Obituary

Bertha Light Wimmer, 91, of Pilot, Va., passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009. She was born on June 2, 1918, to Grover and Flora Light. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Wimmer; and sons, Gene Wimmer, Frank Wimmer, Marvin Wimmer and Ronnie Wimmer. Left to cherish her memory are her grandsons, Marvin Wimmer, Roanoke, Jeffrey Wimmer, and Scott Wimmer, of Christiansburg; granddaughters, Lisa Wimmer Watts, Roanoke, Michelle Wimmer Austin, Riner; greatgrandchildren, Adam and Sarah Wimmer, Brian Wimmer, Brandi and Joshua Watts, Tyler and Coy Austin; special daughtersin-law and friends, Betty Wimmer, Riner, and Bonnie Wimmer, Christiansburg. She is also survived by her loving extended family at Wheatland Retirement Home, Christiansburg. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 20, 2009, at the Horne Funeral Service. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2009, in the Horne Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Monroe Hedrick officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The Wimmer family is being served by Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, Va. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.hornefuneralservice.com.
