Gramdma King was very special. I remember one day when she was in her 80's helping her load the back porch with wood and she said if I needed to take a rest she would get rest. I thought, 'No way was I going to let an 80 year old out do me. I would work right beside her.'

I’ve decided to write a poem in loving memory of my great grandma, I love you.
Your loving gestures gave us all a smile to carry on through the day
Your gone, but not forgotten, though I wish you could stay
For your Bible was always in hand
I know you made it happily to the promise land
The tears that stream downward, are looking for a place to take cover
Though they are memories of an extraordinary grandmother
I’ll never forget the last time I hugged you close and you whispered, “I love you too”
But as far as that being the last time you’d say that, well I never knew
God adds another angel to the hall of fame
Then he carves on your plaque your always-remembered name
You taught me that with hard work and an open mind,
You can do anything from what’s far in front of you, to what’s far behind.
I knew I got my ambition from somebody amazing I knew
I’m just delighted that wonderful angel was you
The words “Rest in peace” on behalf of you, I always feared
I’ve wanted nothing more, but to keep you near
But when I realize your love lasted for 99 years
I take a deep breath, smile and stop the tears
We’ll always cry in loving memory of you
No matter what that’s just human nature, and that’s what we’ll do
The only thing that can clear the pain
Is knowing I’ll see you again one day, therefore I can sustain
I’ll never stop loving you grandma, nobody will
We’ll never begin to forget you, so every night before bed I kneel
I know your smiling down on all of us
I just cant wait to see you, this I must

To my dearest Aunts and Uncles,
We have lost the greatest family member your Mother and my Grandmother. As one of her 58 grandchildren I will always remember Grandmother as a strong, hardworking, and faithful person. She taught us all about faith in God and being a good person. I know that she is in heaven with my Mother. I love you Grandma and will always remember the things you taught me.
Love Your Granddaughter,

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
