Barbara Couch Obituary

Barbara Jean Couch, 65, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, September 25, 2009, leaving behind her loving daughter, Teresa and grandson, Riley, age 2; also a twin brother, Randy and younger sister, Sue. She leaves this life looking forward to seeing her favorite aunt, Bertha Dutton and her mother and father. She fought off the ravages of kidney disease for many years. She finally reached a point where nothing else could be done. Her religious beliefs comforted her to the very end and she looked forward to a new life. She will be missed by all who knew her and remembered for her gentle demeanor and kindness to her peers and all those around her. The family would like to thank Dr. James Kain, the people at Friendship Retirement Community and Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's North Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2009, with Pastor John Hemming officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.

Teresa and family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during your loss. I worked with Jeannie for many years at Pittston. Jeannie was a wonderful person and a true friend. She had a great sense of humor and will be sadly missed by her friends and former co-workers.

To Jeannie's Family:
We would seek to express some nice thoughts of having known Jeannie for a short time. She loved you so much. It was very sweet to watch her lively spirit of love she held for others.
May your faith continue to sustain you all and provide strength for days ahead.
