Evelyn K. Britton

Evelyn K. Britton, 94, of Vinton went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 25, 2009. Mrs. Britton was a former resident of Knoxville, Tennessee and had been a resident at Richfield Assisted Living for the past eight years. She was born December 22, 1914, a daughter of the late T. H. and Ollie Kitts of Johnson City, Tenn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James N. Britton (who passed away on August 15, 1969) and a brother, Tolbert H. Kitts, Jr. of Johnson City, Tenn. She is survived by a son, James E. Britton, of Roanoke; grandson, James (Mark) Britton; great-grandson, Aaron C. Britton; brother, Glen S. Kitts, of Bristol, Tenn.; sister, Sarah Walker, of Akron, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, 366-0707.
