Bonnie Murray Obituary

Bonnie Frost Hensley Murray, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at her home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Simeon and Josephine Frost; her sisters, Etta Mae Walker, Ora V. Bowman, Helen V. Green and Rita F. Newman; her brothers, Howard Frost and Harvey Frost; her husband, Chester A. Hensley Jr. (Junior); and her son, Charles Edward Hensley. Bonnie was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Bonnie was a retired secretary for the Roanoke City School System. Surviving are her husband of 39 years, William (Bill) L. Murray Jr.; sons, Roger A. Hensley and David L. Hensley, both of Roanoke; grandchildren, Erin L. Berger and husband, Cecil (C.J.), of Roanoke, Carissa A. Henriques and husband, Justin, of Charlottesville, and Brett A. Hensley, of Christiansburg; daughter-inlaw, Jan Hendrickson, of Roanoke; best friend, Scarlett (Belle) Hensley, of Roanoke; niece, Joyce (Joy) Faulknier and husband, George, of Charleston, W.Va.; nephews, Ronald Bowman and wife, Imogene, of Bluewell, W.Va., and Richard Bowman and wife, Peggy, of Shelby, N.C.; numerous other family members; as well as her devoted pet, Amberleigh. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First Church of the Brethren Music Ministry, 2001 Carroll Avenue, NW, Roanoke, Va. 24017 or to Trinity United Methodist Church, 305 Mountain Avenue, SW, Roanoke, Va. 24016, in Bonnie's memory. A memorial service will be held noon on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at First Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Dava Hensley officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. There will be no public visitation. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
