Hallie Stanley Obituary

Hallie Cox Stanley, 88, of Laurel Fork, Va., passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, at Heritage Hall, Laurel Meadows. Mrs. Stanley was born in Floyd County to the late Samuel Jackson Cox and Nancy Etta Alderman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wise Stanley; a brother, Samuel J. Cox; and two sisters, Gracie Hendrick and Ethel Moles. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Linda and Lucky Goad, of Laurel Fork, Luther and Geneva Stanley, of Laurel Fork, Joe and Sue Stanley, of Meadows of Dan, and Sandra and Gary Bartley, of Lewisville, N.C.; brothers, Duke Cox, of St. Louis, Mo., Lawrence Cox, of Benning Calif., and George Cox, of Laurel Fork; sisters, Irene Cock and Edith Spence, both of Dugspur; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and special caregivers, Melva Stanley, Priscilla Niten and April Spencer. A special thanks to Laurel Meadows for their loving care. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2009, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Elder Tim McGrady and Elder Lewis Vass officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2009, from 6 until 8 p.m. A guestbook is available online by visiting www. vaughanguynnandmcgrady.comVaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
