Rangeley Howard Obituary

Rangeley Lester (Ray) Howard, 89, of Richmond, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in Henrico Doctor's Hospital. He was born on October 5, 1920, to the late Reuben and Estelle Howard. He was preceded in death by brothers, William "Bill" Howard and Rudolph Howard; and a granddaughter, Adrianne Thornton. He is survived by a daughter, Rickey Thornton and husband, Tim, of Richmond; two sons, Randy Howard and wife, Judy, of Staunton, and Steve Howard and wife, Melissa, of Raleigh, N.C.; four sisters, Wavie Lindsay, of Richmond, Lily Hines, of Salt Lake City, Utah, Adeline Harvey and husband, Nat, of Bedford, and Margie Webb and husband, Warren, of Roanoke; a brother, Hiram "Jeff" Howard and wife, Kay, of Fredericksburg; eight grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be graveside 2 p.m. on Sunday in Sunset Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Jerry Hylton. The Howard family is in the care of Horne Funeral Service, Christiansburg, Va.
