Frances Shelor Obituary

Frances Carmen Graham Shelor, 86, of Floyd, Va., passed away on Monday, October, 12, 2009. Frances loved to garden and had a green thumb. Plants thrived under her love and care. She took great joy in nature and viewing God's creations. She enjoyed her many friends who faithfully visited her over the years. Many thanks to long-time helpers, Corrine Sowers and Debbie Webb, the staff at Skyline Manor Nursing Home, Oak Haven Assisted Living, and Carilion Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Keller Shelor; and parents, Ruby and Newell Graham. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie Dillard and husband, Robert; sister, Jean Peters; and several nieces and nephews. Donations may be given in her name to Falling Branch United Methodist Church, c/o Mrs. Pat Shelor, 674 Old Furnace Road, SW, Floyd, Va. 24091 or the Floyd County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 257, Floyd, Va. 24091. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Maberry Funeral Home.
