Charles Stinnett Obituary

Charles Robert (Bob) Stinnett, 85, of Franklin, Tenn., passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. He was born in Itman, W.Va., and graduated from high school in Mullens, W.Va. He started his career as a machinist on the Virginian Railroad and then moved to Roanoke and Salem, Va., to work for the N & W Railroad. He then later worked for various companies as a machinist and then moved to Franklin, Tenn., to work for Mid South Press in Nashville, Tenn., as Plant Engineer from which he retired. He has been active in the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church in both Roanoke and Franklin. He was an avid craftsman in wood and has made many items for lots of people during his stay in Franklin including grandfather clocks for family and other pieces of furniture. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Augusta. They have three children, Tom and his wife, Nancy Tate, of Riegelsville, Pa., Craig of Greensboro, N.C., and Charlotte and her husband, Brian Donovan, of Rochester, N.Y. He is survived by six grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Charlotte Vandette, of Greensboro, N.C. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters. There will be a graveside service 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke. Dear Aunt Augusta,Craig,Tommy,Charlotte,Im very sorry to here of Uncle Bob's passing may God comfort you,I hope you all find the strength to remember the happy memories with him,and remain hopeful and appreciative of all the little things life has to offer.My most vivid memory of uncle bob was in the summer time at maw maw's house in Spanishburg,he was the leader of the ballgames under the big pinetrees,he now has made the big homerun in the game of life.Take care luv to all Gloria "Polly's" daughter.
