Richard Steffey Obituary

Richard Carlisle Steffey, 89, of Washington, D.C., and formerly of Arlington and Rural Retreat, Va., died on Monday, October 5, 2009. He was born on May 6, 1920, the son of the late Grattan and Kathryn (Sage) Steffey. Mr. Steffey was a graduate of Roanoke College and the George Washington University School of Law. He was an attorney in various capacities at the Federal Power Commission, then an Administrative Law Judge for the Department of the Interior and later, the Federal Mine Safety & Health Review Commission. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois, who continues to live at Ingleside at Rock Creek in Washington, D.C. Services for Mr. Steffey will be held 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, 1313 New York Avenue, NW, Washington, D.C. 20005.

Lois,
We just returned from a three week trip
that took us by Rural Retreat going and
coming. We thought of you in a special
way while we travelled and especially
