Elsie was such an ambassador of goodwill at Merrywood Atria and made all newcomers and their families feel so special and wanted. She is a Christian who lived her faith and her love would just shine through to anyone who met her, even briefly. I was so moved by her spirit when I met her. She also helped make my parents' transition to the retirement center so much easier with her small kindnesses, repeated daily. I will never forget her.

Oh, my goodness, how sad I was to see the obiturary from the Roanoke Times tonight to read of Elsie's passing. I am so, so sorry. She was one beautiful lady whom I loved so much. I worked with Stuart many years in the Bank of Giles County and Elsie was my wonderful Sunday School teacher for many years in the Willing Workers Sunday School class. I am so, so sorry I didn't get a chance to come to see her after she moved to Charlotte. And now I am so far away, I can't come home to be with the family. I will love Elsie forever.

Mary Beth, Wes, Charlie & Nancy,
So sorry to learn of Miss Elsie's passing. She was a wonderful person and an ambassador of good will to everyone she met. We lost a valued member of our congregation when she and Stuart moved to Charlotte many years ago, but folks there got to take advantage of her many inspirational gifts. We'll all miss her greatly, and I will never forget her.

Elsie was such a dear lady and an inspiration, role model and source of great energy. Whenever we had a medical crisis of any kind, we would let Wes and Beth know so we could be on Elsie's prayer list. We always felt like she was our direct line to God. We will truly miss her but we know she is in a better place. God bless you, Elsie.
