Lewis Price Obituary






Lewis Crawford Price, 79 years of age, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, went to be with his heavenly Father, Friday, October 16, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford Lewis Price and Anna Johnson Price. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Davis Price; daughter, Anna Hoy Price Beveridge and her boyfriend, William George Vogel; William George Vogel’s daughter, Kathryn Danielle Holland and her husband, William Morgan Holland; granddaughter, Heather Virginia Osborne and her husband, Jeffrey Shannon Osborne; and great-granddaughter, Karmin Cyrra Osborne; son, Thomas Lewis Price and his wife, Patricia Hodges Price; grandson, Thomas Lewis Price II, Kristen and great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Price; brother, William Thomas Price and his wife, Patricia Cecil Price; brother-in-law, Junius E. Davis and his wife, Yetive T. Davis; sister-in-law, Mary Davis Turner; brother-in-law, Willard O. Falls and his wife, Christine Davis Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Lewis retired as Captain of C Platoon from the Salem Fire Department with 30 years of service and 40 years service as a school bus driver with Roanoke County. He also served two years in the United States Army. He was an avid reader and deer hunter in Bath County, Va., since age 14. Lewis has been a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his Lord and Savior. He was a true outdoorsman, liked watching the four seasons, stars, the sunrise and moon. A private memorial service and celebration of his life will be held. We would like to thank doctors, Stephen A. Couture, Dr. Rogers, Dr. Poffenberger, and Dr. Fintel. Many thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice. Please, no flowers. Please feel free to make a donation to Good Samaritan Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
