Janie Spradlin Aesy

Janie Spradlin Aesy, 82, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 17, 2009. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Aesy Jr.; one brother; and four sisters. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Surviving is her daughter, Cheryl M. Aesy, of Roanoke, son and daughter-in-law, Charles R. and Diane M. Aesy, of Troutville, grandchildren, Charles R. Aesy III and Victoria G. Aesy; brother, David L. Spradlin; sister, Agnes S. Chaves, both of Richmond, Va.; also several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Springtree Rehab and Healthcare Center Unit II for all their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Elias Catholic Church Building Fund, 4730 Cove Rd. N.W., Roanoke, Va. 24017. A funeral mass will be at St. Elias Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, with the Rev. Fr. Claude Franklin officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday October 19, 2009, with a Liturgical Prayer Service being at 7 p.m. at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
