Barbara Stafford Obituary

Barbara Coulson Stafford, 66, of Max Meadows, Va., passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009, in Wythe Co. Community Hospital. She was born in War, W.Va. on August 6, 1943, the daughter of the late James R. Coulson Sr. and Irene Stone Coulson. Mrs. Stafford was a deli worker and a greeter at Walmart. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Jack Ayers; and a brother, James R. "Sam" Coulson. She is survived by her husband, Albert M. Stafford , of Max Meadows; two sons, Robert J. "Peewee" Ayers, of Austinville, Va., Garrie and Tracy Ayers, of Max Meadows, one daughter, Lesa Ayers Pike, of Max Meadows; two stepsons, John Stafford, Jason Stafford; stepdaughter, Jennifer S. Smith, all of Bland, Va.; a brother, David Coulson; two sisters, Rita White, Sue Coley , all of Max Meadows; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. at the Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Bland Co. There will be no procession from the funeral home to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Barnett Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
