Paul Edwin Kirby

July 30, 1926 ~ October 20, 2009 Paul Edwin (Pete) Kirby, 83, of Galax, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Waddell Nursing Home. Mr. Kirby was born on July 30, 1926, in Grayson County, Va., to Andrew Paul and Imogene Hampton Kirby. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Kirby Anderson, of Denver, N.C.; son and fiancee, Michael E. Kirby and Linda Caudill, of Galax, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Ed Pasley, of Galax, Va.; grandchildren, Michael Kirby, Daniel Kirby, Mary Alicia Kirby, and Jennifer Holderfield; five greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, October 23, 2009, in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Edward Pasley and the Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery.
