Kathleen Barton Obituary

Kathleen Dale Dannel Barton, 85, of Harrisonburg, Va., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Kathleen was born on June 1, 1924, in Roanoke, Va., and was the daughter of the late William Morris and Nancy Maude Burnett Dannel. She was a homemaker and devoted all of her time to her husband, children and grandchildren. In August of 1940, she married Earl Leslie Barton, who died on June 28, 1976. Kathleen is survived by her children, Gary Barton, of Harrisonburg, Michael Barton and wife, Karen, of Bridgewater, Robert Barton and wife, Benita, of Ashville, N.C., Wesley Barton, of Las Vegas, Nev., Dr. James W. Barton, of Richmond, Angela Barton and Nancy Barton, both of Harrisonburg, and Donna Greer and husband, Dr. William Greer, of Roanoke; and grandchildren, Amber Barton, Jimmy Barton, Cathy Adkins, Rodney Barton, Andy Barton, Jarod Barton. Besides her parents and husband, Kathleen was preceded in death by a brother, Harold M. Dannel; and a sister, Estelle Robertson. Memorial contributions may be made to RMH Hospice, 235 Cantrell Ave., Harrisonburg, Va. 22801 or the American Cancer Society, 1920-H Medical Ave., Harrisonburg, Va. 22801.
