Douglas McGrady Obituary

Douglas (Jack) McGrady, 64, of Hillsville, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at his home. Mr. McGrady was born in Carroll County to the late Richard Hobert and Myrtle Ellen Dickerson McGrady. Jack is survived by his wife, Lois Jean (JoAnn) McGrady, of the home; son and daughter-in-law, William Edward and Marie McGrady, of Tulare, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Debra Ann and Sammy Trimble, of Ivanhoe; granddaughter, Samantha Trimble; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton and Faye McGrady, of Roanoke, Herbert and Vesta McGrady, of Hillsville, and L.D. and Sandy McGrady, of Dugspur; sisters and brother-in-law, Hulen Banks, of Hillsville, Bonnie Vass, of Hillsville, and Nancy Lee and Russell Goad of Willis; brother-in-law and spouse, Erroll Rhea and Margaret Jett. of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel at 11 a.m. with Dr. John Dunstan and the Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Memory Gardens. Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post 1115. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at the funeral home from 5:30 until 8 p.m. The family says that flowers would be appreciated; however, donations are asked to be made to Hillsville Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 120 Edgewood Drive, Hillsville, Va. 24343.
